Home Sweet Home

Steve arrived home one week after me. I picked him up at the airport…it was a happy reunion. That lucky guy was flown back first class as a thank you for staying the extra week to help get the company out of a bind.

We had been planning his homecoming party all week. This meant we did our best to embarrass him with silly decorations, which ended up manifesting itself in cake and balloon form (sorry Kincer’s, no streamers this time).

Liz and Andria had the place decorated by the time we got home. It’s was the perfect mix of tacky childhood nostalgic decorations: big blue balloons with writing all over them and an R2D2 cake smothered with the sort of frosting that turns your teeth and lips blue (it reminded me of when my dad got my sister and I a Ninja Turtles cake for our birthday one year. Our mouths were stained green for days afterward).

The first thing Steve did was to find his beloved psycho kitty, Casey, who apparently isn’t as crazy as everyone thought after a little “Lara de-psychoing” magic.

Then we went upstairs for cake and gift giving.

A good time was had by all.

And so begins my second week in Canada.
